In this unit on cultural identity, I learned some new ideas. The most important and interesting idea is "melting pot" and "salad bowl". Use melting pot and salad bowl to describe cultural is very telling. It helped me easy to analyze and remember the meaning. Also, I had read the article "People Like Us". When I just looked at the title, I could guess what about the article. Because in my country - China has the same parlance. It means people tend to get into a group that has values and customs like themselves.
I know about china culture, and they are strong culture. but in my country have disappeared family. Because they want to live separate and they don't care of family. So I hope to make china culture in my family.
